Agent Layer
The Agent Layer is LumeSec's agent framework: the software library we build AI agents with. We developed it ourselves instead of using a third-party framework.
01Explained
What is behind it.
An agent framework is a software library for AI agents. It sets how an agent is built: how it reads input, calls tools, passes on intermediate results and chains steps. Developers use it to build agents instead of starting from zero each time.
Many vendors rely on widely used open-source frameworks for this. That is fast. But the agent's behaviour then depends on code the vendor did not write and does not fully control. When the framework changes, the agent changes.
The Agent Layer is the framework LumeSec builds every agent with. Because it is ours, we know what every step does, and we can shape it exactly for regulated processes.
02At LumeSec
How we put it into practice.
Every agent on the LumeSec AI Platform is built with the Agent Layer. It works closely with the other in-house parts: the AI gateway connects the language models, the deterministic runtime computes and runs the processes, and the platform sets rights, approvals and the audit trail.
03Questions
Answered briefly.
01Is the Agent Layer a framework?
Yes. The Agent Layer is an agent framework, a software library for building AI agents. LumeSec developed it in-house.
02Why a framework of your own?
So that no third-party code decides how your agents work. We know every line, fit it to regulated processes and change nothing without testing on your cases.
