AI agent

An AI agent is software that completes a task in several steps on its own: it reads documents, uses tools and presents the result. In a company it works by fixed rules and with approval.

01Explained

What is behind it.

A chatbot answers a question. An AI agent completes a task: for example, read annual accounts, transfer the values into your analysis structure, compute ratios and present a draft for approval.

For an agent to work reliably in a company it needs three things: clear rules for every step, the rights assigned to it, and points where a person decides. Without them the result is hard to check.

Good agents separate reading from computing. The language model reads and understands text. Computing, checking and deciding follow fixed formulas and your rules.

02At LumeSec

How we put it into practice.

On the LumeSec AI Platform the AI reads, the engine computes and your people decide. Ready-made agents exist for banks, tax advisors, law firms and IT security; for other processes we build your own.

03Questions

Answered briefly.

01What is the difference between an agent and a workflow?

A workflow follows a fixed path. An agent understands unstructured input and picks the right path. On our platform both run together: the agent reads, the process stays fixed.

02Does an AI agent compute with the language model?

Not at LumeSec. Ratios and checks are computed by a deterministic engine with fixed formulas.
