AI gateway
An AI gateway is the central connection to language models. It sets which model a process may use, where data goes and what is logged.

If every application talks to a model vendor directly, you lose track: which data goes where? Which model is allowed? What happens if a vendor fails?
An AI gateway bundles these connections. You set per process which models are allowed, whether only European endpoints are used, or a local model. Changing the model is a setting, not a rebuild.
