AI in banking
AI in banking today mostly means reading documents and preparing back-office processes, such as statement analysis, credit files and KYC. Decisions stay with the bank, sourced and auditable.
01Explained
What is behind it.
In lending, a lot of time goes into groundwork: reading annual accounts and trial balances, transferring values into the analysis structure, computing ratios, chasing documents. That is exactly where AI agents help.
Banks work under strict rules: DORA, the EBA guidelines on loan origination and the EU AI Act. AI must therefore be traceable. Every value needs a source, every calculation a fixed formula, every decision a responsible person.
Good fields of use are statement analysis and spreading, the complete credit file, KYC and onboarding, and ongoing monitoring with early warning signals.
02At LumeSec
How we put it into practice.
The Financial Services Agent on the LumeSec AI Platform covers these processes, up to complete account and credit processes. The analysis structure comes with 150 standard items; your own items are possible.
03Questions
Answered briefly.
01May a bank use AI in the credit process?
Yes, if it stays traceable and people decide. Under the EU AI Act, creditworthiness assessment of natural persons carries specific duties; the platform provides the evidence for them.
02Where is the data stored?
In the EU, in your own instance or in your data centre. No model is trained on your data.
