Approval point (human in the loop)
An approval point is a step in an automated process where a person decides before it continues. With AI agents it makes sure responsibility stays with people.
01Explained
What is behind it.
Not every step should run automatically. A credit opinion, an invoice or an e-mail to a client needs a person who checks and approves.
Approval points set exactly that: where, by whom and with which information. The person sees the draft, the sources and the calculation. Their decision goes into the audit trail.
This also helps with regulation: the EU AI Act and DORA require human oversight and traceability.
02At LumeSec
How we put it into practice.
On the LumeSec AI Platform you set for every step whether the agent only reads, suggests, drafts or executes, and where your people approve.
03Questions
Answered briefly.
01Do approvals slow down automation?
Hardly. The agent does the groundwork. Your people check a finished draft with sources instead of producing it themselves.
